Traditional Christmas in Vienna

Every year from mid-November until Christmas, the Austrian capital is enveloped in a Christmas atmosphere. The magic of Christmas can be seen on almost every corner. The majestic Christmas tree and beautiful light installations in the park are an integral part of the event. The Christmas Village on Maria Theresa Square features as many as 70 stalls. Here, visitors can listen to live Christmas carols performed by choirs and bands. In the heart of the city lies the Old Vienna, which began in 1772 in Freyung. At the charming stalls, visitors can buy high-quality, traditional handicrafts such as glass ornaments, nativity scenes, etc.
